When you are back, your storages and warehouses would evaporate all goods and resources in few seconds! No more uranuim for nuclear reactors, no more water for hydrogen reactors.. You'd better listen to greenies, but it's too late - the last colonist is passing away.. I love this game, but I think it's better to wait for new versions and take some time to cool down my butt, cuz it hurts heh.
