Okay, I just started doing some testing by opening different folders on my Apple Studio.
Thus far, I can determine that Network Browser has no problem with dashes and apostrophes being in file and folder names.
However, then I tried opening another folder where again, Network Browser just hangs.
So I went to the very same folder on my iPhone using the FileBrowser app in order to determine what is in the troublesome folder.
Well, it only contains three plain text files, all three of which have file names which are only 8 characters long, followed by the .txt file extension.
One of the file names includes a dash, which as I said, does not appear to be a problem for Network Browser.
The largest of the three files is only 56.7 Kb in size.
FileBrowser has no problem opening any of these files, but Network Browser can't even list the three files. As I said, it just hangs with a white screen, and the progress bar moving back and forth as it tries to list the folder contents.
I don't know if the above info will help or not, but there it is for what it is worth.
I will do a little more experimenting in order to determine if any other characters are causing a problem.

Wow! A response! I had just about given up getting any kind of support here. 😄
Okay, well, what I can tell you is that I use Network Browser to connect to my Apple Studio. As you may possibly know, with macOS, the only character which cannot be used in folder and file names is the colon, because it is used in path names.
Every other letter, number and symbol is permissible in both folder names and file names.
Aside from uppercase and lowercase letters, I do normally use spaces, underscores and dashes in my file names, and less frequently, apostrophes and question marks. Maybe even double quote marks here and there.
Could this be the problem?
I don't know if you noticed or not, But I made a few other posts here about four weeks ago which also remain unanswered. I offered some comments and app suggestions in those. Can you please answer those as well? Thanks!

Well, I am assuming that the developer of the Network Browser app doesn't have much interest in supporting his product. Why do I say this? Because I made three posts here 18 days ago, and they all remain unanswered, not even by other forum visitors.
One of my biggest problems is that Network Browser cannot display a list of items for certain folders and subfolders, even after several attempts. It just shows a blank white screen without anything being listed.
I get the impression that this may possibly have something to do with the app having some kind of built-in limit with regard to how many items it can list. But this is just a guess on my part.
If anyone knows a solution to this issue, I'd really appreciate hearing from you. Thanks!

While I see that Network Browser is able to create and delete folders on other volumes on my local network, one thing which would be very helpful to me would be if it could also create plain text files as well, which it would also be able to edit, and even rename, if necessary.
With this functionality, I could then easily copy and paste text data from text files on my Android, to text files that are on my Apple Studio.
My iPhone app FileBrowser already has this ability. It would be great if Network Browser had it too. Thanks!

Hello again. I seem to have discovered a new problem when trying to list files in folders on my Apple Studio.
Is there a limit to how many files Network Browser is able to display?
The reason why I ask this, is because for at least the second time now over the past day, Network Browser is just showing a blank white screen without listing any folder content.
For example, I just went to a folder which contains about 725 BBEdit files. These files are just plain text and nothing more.
They are not word processor documents that contain special fonts, special styling, images, etc. Again, they are just plain text files.
Yet nothing is appearing on-screen. As I said, it is just a plain white screen
This has led me to suspect that Network Browser may be limited in how many items it is able to display. If the folder contains more than that built-in limit, then Network Browser just hangs and shows the blank white screen.
I thought perhaps I just needed to be patient and wait a few seconds. However, even after a few minutes, it is still just showing a blank white screen.
Earlier, when I tried to display the contents of a folder which contains over 300 subfolders, which themselves contain more subfolders and thousands of images distributed amongst them, the same thing occurred. Just a blank white screen with no actual items listed.
Can you please explain what is going on here? Is my theory correct, or is it some other issue?
Thanks!

Hello. Recently, I suggested some functionality improvements via the in-app Network Browser feedback option.
One feature request was the ability to copy and paste images from other volumes into social network posts. What are the chances of this being implemented any time soon?
Another feature request was the ability to order file listings alphabetically, reverse alphabetically, by last modified, and by reverse last modified, meaning from oldest to newest. What are the chances of this being implemented soon?
A third suggestion I made was that upon opening a text file -- including HTML files -- they should be editable, with the ability to save changes. How soon can this be implemented?
I may have suggested a few other things, but I don't remember them now.
Thanks for your app. I use it every day to connect to my Apple Studio
