Despite all the negative feedback and complaints that I have been reading, I am still thankful for the updates. This is making the game more difficult thus making it more challenging and interesting. We really have to keep an eye out for our colony so that we won't lose our resources.

The way I typically play is on offline mode where I leave the game running while I go to sleep. If I do not like the results when I wake up, I make a new colony. It's crazy. I know. I start from scratch almost every time :) I want to test different combination of arranging the buildings to see how I can best get resources faster without sacrificing approval rating from my colonists. In this way, I always make things new relive the struggle of a start up colony.

Master developer, please do not bother those who are leaving the game (either this game only or all of your games all together). It just means that they are not up for the challenge that you are giving them. There is always a way around to make things work. It also means that they are not strong enough to stand by you when you actually needed their support. I am not saying that I am the only supporting you. I am pretty sure that there are others who are not part of the forum who are supporting you. Let them leave on their own terms while welcoming new people who will be enjoying the game.

I am on 0.48 but I play offline since I only have capped internet connection. I go online once in a while to download the update then once it is fully installed, I go offline again.

Just give it some time. The game will adjust itself especially for buildings that do not require workers to generate resource.

Check your pie graph what is the predominant reason for their unhappiness. If it is fatigue, provide shorter commutes for work and entertainment. Also, shift the working policy to "Light" so that they actually have time to use the entertainment facilities. If the main concern is poverty, increase their salaries or provide baseline allowance on top of their salaries or give them a stimulus package. If is health, make sure that your Trash count is less than 5k (would be better if 0) and have lots of medical clinics/hospitals.

Oh I see. Makes sense now. Thanks.

I have been playing the game for almost a year now and have been very happy about the improvements that has happened over all. However, there is still one thing that I do not understand. What the heck is DEPRESSION? Does that mean economic depression? If so, how do we know if there is an economic depression in the colony?

This gave me a laugh :)

Not sure how this could work but would be an interesting addition to keep in mind. BTW who hates @Amorphus???

bastecklein said:I can add a confirm dialog or something, but I won't waste time putting in an undo. Just think if after months and months of people wanting to be able to delete a bunch of stuff at once, and then once they get it immediately wanting an undo feature, lol. Next I will have to add in redo, copy/paste, and then a spell checker.

spellchecker hahaha so we are now turning the game into a MS Word hahaha

But yeah I agree. Don't bother putting in Undo. There is no such thing as "undo" in life. Dialog box is a lot better since there is a warning that you actually about to delete/bulldoze something. Might be helpful though if the dialog box could indicate which buildings will be potentially deleted/bulldozed. Not sure if that will make the coding a bit difficult.

I read bast's plan for the next update before I got to this thread. I believe some parts of 1 will be included like the grouping part.

I usually leave my colony alone and do other stuff as soon as I am able to build the capitol thingy (still can't quite remember the name but I know what it looks like). I set it on auto-budget just to make sure that the colonists get paid. When I come back, I add more resources then leave it alone again. I do this repeatedly until such time that I have enough resources to exploit. Somehow, I have turned mine into an idle game but this is how I have kept my maps going without getting frustrated on how slow I can get my resources.

If you have an embassy of some sort (depends on the map you are playing but do check the buildings under Government), you will see them walking around the building. If you do not have that building yet, they will wander around. You just need to click on the colonist and see if the pop up show either Idel, Moving, Wandering or Protesting.

True. I don't turn the rendering off though since I like seeing them walk and them go idle all of a sudden. I make it a point to have 95% approval rating in the concerns pie chart.

bastecklein said:First up I will be doing quite a bit of work on the interface. I am thinking of replacing the bottom left corner menu that you get when you click on a building (with the build, sell, cancel, etc buttons) with a small row of icons that appears under the buildings when you click on them. Then there will be a new building stats screen with improved data, such as production per minute and some fun graphs and whatnot. Will also give info related to how many of each type of building you have and so forth.

bastecklein said:For vehicles, I will be adding the ability to group them together with keyboard shortcuts, and then calling them up with a keypress. For instance, you will be able to highlight a bunch of vehicles, press ctrl+4 to assign them to group #4, then when you press the '4' key, it will call up all of those units.

bastecklein said:Some buildings will become movable, in that they will be able to "pack up" into a vehicle, drive to a different location, and then "unpack".

And this is why we love you master!!!

- the number of each different vehicles we have
- the number of each different buildings we have
- where pop is living and working (ex : 3k in bank, 2k in al generator ...)

This part I like :) would be very helpful

Seriously, people just could not understand that the developer has no intention of turning THIS game into a war game let along integrating any war insinuations. I believe he is working on a game with war being integrated already so just wait for that instead.

I like the suggestion but it might mess up the programming of the bots.

I believe a similar suggestion has already been suggested. I could not seem to locate it though but I do agree that adding this update might make the game more interesting.
