mildly interesting: the red Crystal model is a recolor of the green cryatal with 3 spears of obaidian in each corner. Its all tied together. brown wood looking thing is a bee hive picture turned upside down. it is an upgrade of the ugly round thing that was supposed to be reminiscent of a paper wasp nest.
this is why I have had like 30 colonies and start new games after about 20,000 souls. aside from grids, I have also had luck building colonies on a spiral and in bunches of clumps. when chain building became a feature it became so much easier to build in long lines. so that's a thing, too
It's the same process. In your tutorial you just modify textures to multiple elements rather than just one. Exporting the mct captures any and all changes.

is this an online colony? not an offline? if you open you colony statistics from the left hand menu you should see a url to your colony homepage. paste it here.
it happens. I've been in that situation and as long as there was power and pads they would come back. you need to prioritise water and food or they'll quickly die.
no, not unless something changed. I haven't played on ice in a while. when i was playing that world I tried to keep a few unharvested because they were a limited resource.

To provide a rapid source of new colonists simply build landing pads by the dozen. They are cheap and use little power.
I also like the idea of any type from any type. Maybe there's a technology required.

The game does have a built in molding tool. In Windows and android there is a create texture mod option under the modding section of more options.
Once again that's More Options -> Modding -> Create Texture Mod. If there is nothing there then reboot.

If I am reading this right you are proposing a pony club and a unicorn club. The first generated entertainment while consuming food. The second requires the a new resource (Unicorns) which become available after researching biological modification. There are also rainbows.

I'm playing a new colony on a galaxy 8 and not having an issue. Specifically it's a United Earth joint. Are you sure you have a simple builder not and those mats above?
