This is a PSA/Warning about the coming removal of Facebook Cloud Sync from all versions of My Colony. It has already been removed from the Web Client, but it still remains on all other versions. This will be coming to an end though with My Colony v0.53.0 which will be arriving mid to late January, so you have several weeks to prepare for the coming change.
For reference, you can export your game files easily on all versions of My Colony. From the title screen, select More Options -> Game Data. There you will see options for managing your game files.
The cloud sync has never been reliable, mostly due to the large game file sizes of My Colony. It is a good concept for different types of games, but it isn't realistic for a large simulation game like My Colony that stores a lot of stats, and has sadly caused many people to lose their colonies due to data transfer errors, especially on mobile.
Again, you have about three weeks to adjust accordingly. I suggest making regular backups of your game files if you are running a large important colony, especially on the web version of the game, as browsers can randomly clear your data without warning. For web users, I am working on an optional desktop bridge application that gives the ability to store game saves directly to the file system, but I still suggest that anybody using a desktop PC use the Native Client instead of the web version, provided it is available for your platform: https://market.ape-apps.com/my-colony.html
