second civilization
since antiquitas there are romans I thought that you could add the Gallic the Belgians the Vikings and many other civilization and also the egyptients does it seem to you thinkable?
Personally I think the game would do better sales wise if he adds more maps or possibly other city states as you said .
But vikings and Egyptians to different .
Greeks on the other hand would fit the game fine with the lest changes needs ( heck Rome did steal most of the tech from them lol .)
As the Finished game now stands Very nice graphics game play not bad but very very short .
Two days tops you have a really nice Rome city . Heck I did it in 12 hours of play ( 24 hours total )
It was kinda of rushed lucky he had help but he did relise it as finished game which implys he has no plans to expand it .
Are you telling me that antiquitas will never be updated?
Well he has implied he may add more maps and the game does have missing controls .
But as of now his focas is on my colony and with all the people saying add war into it ( which he has refused ) he plans on a game called colony wars .
This game was just a easy spin off of my colony for him as he used my colony for its platform But if sales rise and downloads rise like my colony has I am sure he will start adding more to it .
BTW this is the wrong way around My colony got poplar and remains so because of the adding ( updating he does .The games taht sell and are downloaded the most on android are the ones that get frequent updates ( Regardless of the game content .
so if he really wants this one to be his next money maker then adding stuff ( updating is the way to go )
He will add more content depending on the popularity of the game. If nobody downloads it, there's no use in updating it.
still to hope that more people download it
it is being downloaded at a good pace it will depend on adding more if he stops then it will stagnate but if he adds maps or other city states more people would download it .
He is now getting known so people acutely go looking for his stuff .
Again a games popalirty depends MORE on frequent update then the type or content of the game .
Some of the most annoying clicker games on play store keep a huge following not because the game is great but because they change it once or twice a month add in new content then take it out and repeat .
And the biggest building games do this as well .
there are a 100 other building games that died long agaio because the developer did nothing some are not to bad but in the end you want to keep a following you need new content once in a wile .
in this case even if person telecharge antiquitas BAST can let the application antiquitas in the web store
I think that antiquitas could be better with more races as well. I don't think that we need to worry about whether a civilization can fit with Rome or not because what's the point of making a new race if the gameplay isn't completely different from the Romans; it defeats the purpose and it wouldn't be fun at all. If you add a greek civilization then the gameplay would be too similar to the Romans, because, it's as you said, Romans got most of their tech from Greece.
I think that the Egyptians would be a good civilization to add because they would bring a bunch of new resources to the table, including papyrus for paper, sandstone for building pyramids, lapis Lazule, since egyptions used it a whole bunch in their temples to add a nice blue color. They would still use all of the resources that Romains did but would be in a dessert environment with rivers running through it, since most of Egypts farming was next to the river. It would be nice to see that added if the game gets a good rep.
the Vikings would also be a unique gameplay in itself, since their environment is a cold and wet one. Not sure what resource the vikings were known to produce and trade with other nations though because vikings were war-like and made much of their living from raiding other villages; so they didn't pay that much attention to producing anything on their own volition. They were also known to be pretty nomadic, which means that they might not be apropriate for adding to the game, since they wouldn't bring that much to the table, but then again I don't know much about Viking culture. The purpose of having multiple races is so that each race can bring their own unique resources and advantages to the table, and I don't think that vikings could bring anything special to the table when it comes to a city building game, just like I don't think that greeks could bring anything special to the table either since everything they have Rome has.
Some other races to consider are the Chineese clans, which would bring rice and silk to the table, India would have spices that they could make and trade, the Incans/mayans would be a unique gameplay since they ate corn and did other things, and the Isrealites were good at producing honey, and there are many other races that could be of use in this game.
vikings did not make any resources Vikings were the pirates of there time more or less they spent most of there time attacking coastal villages and taking what they wanted .
the only real skill they had was boat building .
( kind of hard to be a pirate without a good boat lol .
I know alot my people being Irish and at the time Barbarians as well traded with them and some of us got our red hair from them .
Chinese could be added as they may be even older then Rome they lasted till ( well they never really totally fell .
but egyption wile it would be cool just would not fit and adding random city states would be silly
