ALL I NEED is all the stuff from the old forum.

1. you should see if there are new post in a category.
2. you should he able to see all new post on one page
3. more information in the profile
4. charts.

And we need alerts. And I don't know how to send a private message in this forum.

use conversations for that.

Being able to bring up all the threads/posts a member has posted by looking at their profile (like in the old forum), would be nice. Like if I wanted to view a post @Ottoich did about how lame his commonwealth is, I could find it that way. 8o) hehehehe

I posted this in a conversation, but couldn't figure out how to add a user (like @bastecklein) to the convo.

Anyway, I'm curious about the new forums. They seem to be missing many features one is used to in a forum, most importantly the ability to be notified when topics are updated (without needing a RSS app). I know they're still being written, so I'm curious to hear your thoughts to write your own forums from scratch, instead of using existing forum software. I'm partial to Discourse myself (full disclosure, I was hired by Discourse last month, but I've used Discourse for 2+ years before that) - and I think it would be a great solution. Discourse is free and open source, so please don't interpret this as a "sales pitch".

Well it's as much of a hobby for me as anything else, so I like to write my own. The features will come online in due time.
