Ape Apps

So i started an offline save on an asteroid, first time playing the game. Now im at a point at which it could be helpful to have online friends or join a charter. Is there any way to go online with a previously offline save?

There is a way to change to online mode on the overview section of the stats menu, right at the bottom. Just like how people who are online have the ability to press the button and take their game offline to local mode which allows offline play. However, if you have used a map you or someone in the community has created, or if it is a game from creative mode, you will not be able to transfer your colony online.

Well, your ape apps account is required to play an online game, but it doesn't save your game data on your account. But there is a specific button put into the game that can make a copy of your save file you can transfer to your pc manually. Go to the main menu of the game, click more options and there will be a button that says game data near the top of the toolbar that pops out. Once you click that you are given the option to either export, import, delete or recover a save file. You want to export your save file, just put it in a folder you can find and then put that on your pc. Once on your pc you can use the import save file function from that folder you just made/sent.

Once this is all done and the files are transferred you are not required to export to that folder to save as it will save automatically within its own file in the my colony folder. However, it might be a good idea to export your save file into your own separate folder just in case your game corrupts or something tragic happens in your colony just as a backup. My game is getting close to 500k population now, so I keep regular backups in case something goes wrong.
