synthetic crystal overload

Although I can harvest synthetic crystalline, since it started spreading, I can't clear even a single square of it. I had a part of my map set up as a sort of crystalline farm (pic attached). No number of tundra rovers can make a dent in it, and the problem has coincided with a significant amount of lag. If I delete a road or wall adjacent to crystalline, it is almost immediately filled in with spreading crystal.

I'd guess that this can be replicated by creating a large area of synthetic crystalline surrounded by roads and\or walls.

They spread on top of each other. Once you reached a critical mass, they spread faster than you could possibly harvest or remove them.
Problem comes with your game file. It will start to get really big and your map will lag a lot.

Had the same with fir trees on a zolarg map. It would help if either the self-spreading resources would not be able to spread on top of each other, or having a maximum of stacking.

Your only hope currently is to mass build bots to harvest them all.

Have same problem here...

For now you can clear it out quick with the bulldozer tool. I'm trying to fix the overlapping bug as we speak.

My idea with the green crystals was that they would kind of become like tiberium in command and conquer, where they start getting out of control and taking over.

I wish it would spread faster, I waited for 10 minutes and it just spread once on LIS Ice World

Trust me, find a corner, and just add more crystals manually until you have a plot about 10x10, or bigger if you want, and then wait. The more crystals you have the faster they spread.

I've done this myself so I know it works. Also, roads, roads, roads. Gods help you if you forget to block the area with roads. I have roughly a 40x40 patch of tiberiu-Crystalline...Growing that my rovers can barely touch and it doesn't spread any further than that square.
