I play on chromeos. As I mentioned in another thread, my colony is stuck unable to build anything, the bots just won't respond. I seem to have also stopped producing food for some unknown reason, so all my colonists are dying, despite many food production facilities.
Whatever is going on, I just want to back out to before the glitch. When I go to game data, and select delete files, it shows 2 files for this colony, the mcz save game file, and the mcb backup. I'd love to restore the backup. Unfortunately, despite the delete dialog seeing these files, my file system does not. I have searched the entire file system, and they simply don't seem to exist.
Any ideas where to find that backup file to restore?
Just looked as I don't do this myself - Go to More Options - Game Data -> Restore from Recovery. You can then select the *.mcb file you want to restore from.
For the desktop version of the game, its in a hidden directory that isn't easy to find if you don't know where to look.
This is Chrome OS. There is no hidden directory containing an MCB file, I even have developer mode on this machine, dropped to a shell and did a search for *.mcb on the entire file system as root and came up empty.
It seems ridiculous that the game can see it enough to delete it, but forces you to an external file explorer to load it!
