in most games that have buildings, you have a timer that says this many days and hours are left but my colony doesn't. I think that it would save players lots of time if they knew how long each of their buildings would take to build.

It shows a progress bar when the rovers are building the structure already tho

The thing is, besides for a few of the late game stuff most structures take less than a minute or two to build, while on those other games stuff can literally take days, unless you buy diamonds of course 😉
