Too Much Atmosphere?

Howdy,

I'm curious about the other side of terraforming, as in when you terraform to earth-like levels and your atmosphere keeps producing. Is there a global warning aspect to this? What I mean to ask is simply if you can have too much atmosphere? When my colony got above 1k population the atmosphere kind of ran away to 5 million. I've heard 15 million is when problems arise but that was in a post about trash piling up. As a precaution I've cut my incinerators in half and quadrupled the condesors but the atmosphere keeps rising. What are the ways to slow it/stop it yet still keep production up? Is there even an upper limit to atmosphere before colonists health becomes a worry? Thank you.

Yeah, 15 mil and the colonists start getting sick. If you're below then you don't need to worry.

A bit of advise, don't use incinerators. At all. They make so much air that you need like 100 alien condensers in order to get rid of it. Best use recycling stations. They produce plastic without creating atmosphere.

I'm in the process of bringing my atmosphere down from 50 mil down to 15 but its a long process. With 14k colonists, several advanced robotics.inc and who knows how many more factories and synthesis labs its gonna take me some time...

Anyway, your best bet is using the alien condensers and carefully monitoring the atmosphere level so it doesn't start randomly climbing back up or disappear completely (had that happen to me once. it wasn't fun. at all).

I understand soon you will lose access to buildings if atsom drops below the buildings show lv .
as the alien condenser requires 15 million to have and they start getting sick at 15 million the trick will be keep it at 14.900 that way you can add 100 k quick put in more alien condensers and lower it back .
The easy way to do this is keep 4 or 5 million water storage and then keep storage available by selling 3 million water making teh condensers work more .
So over build alien condensers then us selling water to make them work and shutting them off or on as needed .
not really hard as 3 million open water storage will do most of teh work

ps it would have been better if he had made it 16 million at the start of sickness

Actually Bast has said that he won't have colonists getting sick right at 15m, it will be at a higher level. And dying off won't be until very, very high levels (he was thinking 1 billion). So keeping it under say 25/30m is nice for now but don't get too rigid about it quite yet.
