Whenever I get to about 30,000 pop I have all the money, Aluminium and Alien Artefact I'll ever need I don't know what to do after that - the world more or less just takes care of itself. I end up starting a new game for the challenges of that, and yet I see maps with over 1m population so I must be doing something wrong.

What keeps you going after you have all the resources you need?

No youre not doing it wrong. Some people are just keep expanding their land to test their cpu and memory to the limit until the game is no longer playable... *maybe...

Try to expand your land to 1000x1000 or more

I guess people have different opinions on challenges. I don't see the point either of having a huge colony with more or less 1000 times the same buildings. But seeing how many people have huge colonies we must be a select group who think like that.

It`s the same with people who enjoy having 50 colonies, each colony dedicated to one or two specific resources. I don't enjoy that either, but many do.

So it's not that you're doing something wrong, just a different idea of challenge.
I try to get independent with every race type and have a flourishing colony on each race.

What keeps me going is helping new players that have joined my commonwealth. Just earlier I had a kid join and had no idea how to play next thing I know his colonists were dieing from starvation and then from dehydration. I spent 30 minutes giving him a quick walkthrough.

I just like cheating and having my main be able to send stuff to my newer colonies.

I'm playing because I want to be in the top 10. I have a challenge there. and I'm part of a community that keeps me playing. I like it to be one of the colonies that has the biggest production. (Only one has bigger I guess, @Blarg)

two have bigger the top is twice the size of blargs

he hasn't got any production there. so from Production, I'm second.

Saying you like cheating isn't very smart. But sending stuff to your new colony's isn't cheating .
