Ore production
I guess the first one didn't post. But I'll post again. I'm in early mid game and keep running into an issue with ore production. Is there a better way to produce ore other than spamming charcoal compactors
depends on the world/planet type you have. red planet has ore fracking. But if you aren't red planet, yes. Just request a few million on GBt, it should be filled fast.
Its me Lego.
Ore fracking hmm, where's it sit in the tech tree
If you are using charcoal compactors then I can assume you are on a forest map. There is no ore fracking, just build LOTS of the compactors and power generators to support them.
also, for forest maps, you have to build all charcoal compactors, that part of the point of that planet being hard to play. Make sure that you pick a big square, maybe 20x20, and fill it with compactors with no space left in between. That should give you 400 ore every few seconds.
I'm going to design an advanced ore producer for the forest world that would be available once the player has past 250k atmosphere and once they have a few aluminum and chips to spare. But that may take away from the difficulty of the game. I guess once the forest colony get's bigger, they should have something to replace those compactors in order to save space.
I feel that having some form of upgrade from the ore compactors on forest worlds and regolith compactors on others would not break the difficulty curve.
Once you reach the point now where you have more coal production than it is used up, you've already hit the difficulty curve. It doesn't even need to be something that'd completely replace the compactors. Maybe just consolidate the 20x20 grid of compactors into a smaller space that maybe uses less coal and power.
