GBT Exploits Abuse

I understand that there are issues with the GBT that need fixed. The fault is mine for letting issues linger for too long, and there will be changes coming to the GBT in v0.50.0. That said, the existence of an exploit does not imply permission for utilizing it. From here on I am going to be outright banning any user from the My Colony server who I see taking advantage of exploits. If you have to ask if the way you are using the GBT is non-legit, then it probably is. Since so much of the game's mechanics are tied to the GBT, abuse cannot be allowed. The purpose of the GBT is to facilitate legit trade and for real-time price discovery of the game's resources. It is not a storage facility for your extra resources, or an easy way to transfer a large volume of goods between colonies.

This post can be considered the only warning.

Is a server rollback possible say 12hr before? I am sure most players agree that is the sensible way to remove excess resources that is floating around

Server rollback would be possible, but not currently possible to rollback all of the resources and money that have gone out to the individual colonies, which is where most of the damage has been done.

Someone with a colony name THISIS hacked the game and just posted a ridiculous amount of resources on the GBT
I'm talking about BILLIONS of resources.
And not just one kind. There are alien artifacts, aluminum, uranium, regolith, ant paste, antanium and i believe every other resource in the game

I noticed my GDP gets a big jump when I buy cheap stuff. Maybe filter any colony with GDP growth in excess of100% in the last 12 hours?

The problem is that a script went and purchased every single auction on the GBT, so players can have a huge GDP bump from all of their contracts selling, even if they were not the ones who hacked.

Problem is bigger than just the last 12h. Hyperinflation has been going in the GBT for months, exploiting of bugs isn't new either. That's why the windfalltax of the galactic emperor should been seen as a warning, a small correction in the hope people would get the hint. Unfortunately they haven't. But in the last days the problem just got bigger because some people found a way to use outside aids.

People also play the GBT like a stock market, they use it to make money and not to help others out. People who use it for what it's intended are in a minority. and the majority ruins it for the minority.

I just started playing less than 1 month so didnt know the backstory. I think the problem lies on the fact data is stored on the player side and people can manipulate it and send back to server and the server cant tell if it is legit or not

Things seem to have gone back to normal in the GBT for now. And by that i mean the ridiculous price offers are back. I just saw one that wanted 10 Bil coins for 10k steel.... ABSURD!!
No more Incredible resource spam for now tho, it seems everyone bought it all

Lol that guy prob fishing for the script to buy it. I dont think this game has reached the level where people pay cash for virtual commodities. Most likely doing it just becos they can
