Search - attempting to restore backup
Hello all
After playing mycolony on my samsung tablet, I decided I wanted to move my main colony to the pc.
So I connected the USB cables, got into my tablets files took the colony file and put it on the computer. I log into Steam start mycolony up.
Go to restore, I clicked the file I previously downloaded from the mobile and it took my to the screen that says
"Attempting to restore backup..."
The file is 81KB, it's been at this state going on 3 hours now.... just wondering if that's normal or steps to take to complete this restore file to play on the pc.
I can go into the region, create another city, but when I go to switch to the main one it brings up the "Attempting to restore backup" seemingly with no end.

Okay! So when I go to game date-backup file, it give me only 3 options. The region for my main and my other unimportant cities.
It doesn't give me an option to backup my main city the actual city part. Only gives me option to backup the region.
But if I go to delete file it has a big list AND I see the actual city file. Directly below that it says in yellow "My Colony Recovery File" I went to this ape apps website to my walls and to the saved files but mine in this website shows nothing. but I dont see the city file when I click backup files in the game data menu
Found the motherloade of files on my pc! AND I think I found my old colony that I lost it has 4,000 kbs I'm guessing that's it. I opened up steam and my colony found out how to restore that file but same thing it says restoring forever
But I found literally all my files, individual city saves, region saves etc. I can successfully restore some. But not the ones I need or want to.

Happy Friday to everyone here, and it's time for another My Colony patch, v0.82.0! This update continues the bug fix series that I have been doing while I work on Colony Wars, but I've also added a couple of features that you will hopefully find helpful. Let's dive in and take a look.
Firstly on the bug fix front, every issue that had been tracked to the automatic bug tracker from both My Colony v0.81.0 and Antiquitas v1.22.0 has been resolved, along with a few other issues that I noticed while digging through the code.
One of the biggest issues in My Colony deals with corrupt save files. While working on this update, I noticed that ever since I implemented Regions way back in September, the game was no longer saving backup copies properly for single city maps or region overview maps. This means that besides for sub-city files, no backup saves (the *.mcb files) were being done properly.
For those who are not aware, when you save a game in My Colony, it creates the compressed (if compression is turned on) *.mcz save (that also syncs to the cloud if you have cloud sync turned on), and also an uncompressed *.mcb file that saves only to the local device. When you go to load your colony, it first tries to load the *.mcz cloud save, then the *.mcz local save, and if those do not work, it tries for the uncompressed *.mcb backup save.
What was happening in the code is that first it was saving the uncompressed backup save as a *.mcz file, and then saving over it with the final compressed *.mcz file. So there was no backup. This means if that there was an error in the compression for some reason, there was no uncompressed backup to fall back on.
It also means that if there is an old backup *.mcb file saved somewhere on your device from before the error occurred, opening a file could potentially restore that old backup and override everything you had done in the meantime.
I also noticed that a majority of the save corruptions seemed to be happening on Windows 10, Android, and Desktop. These also happen to be the three platforms where save compression was turned off by default. I had it turned off because compression can cause memory issues when saving cities that have been expanded multiple times and have millions of citizens. Since I am more moving towards Regions being the default play mode though, I decided to turn the compression on by default on all platforms to see if it helps. You can still turn it off on a per-colony basis if you want to.
Next up, I made it so that importing and exporting goods through the Mass Driver/Star Gate (etc) type buildings no longer has to be done in fixed lot sizes. Now when you go to make a trade using these buildings, you will be presented with a slider dialog that lets you make trades up to the max that the structure supports.
I still need to make improvements to the dialog, but it should make some of the buildings with the ultra-large capacities a little more useful.
Next, I have also made changes to the in-game notifications and especially that chat, which should hopefully make them more useful. First, if you are using the "Desktop" style interface (the one with all of the build options appearing in the right-side sidebar), in-game notifications will now show up in a notification area at the bottom right of the screen, instead of popping up in the bottom middle. When you have notifications there, there will be a new red x icon in the bottom right corner that lets you clear all notification messages at once.
The other change is that all chat messages now show up in the notification area. This only works when you are signed in to the chat server, but now once you sign into the chat server for a colony at least once manually, you will automatically be signed in each subsequent time that you open your colony. That way, if you are playing your colony and somebody is trying to talk to you on chat, you will know it without actually having the chat window open. You will also get livestream chat notifications, and notifications when somebody decides to watch your livestream.
On mobile (or if you are not using the "Desktop" interface), you will still get new chat notifications, but they will pop up in the same way notifications currently work, in the bottom-middle of the screen. As always, you can turn off all notifications in the engine settings menu.
Finally, the Russian language translations by Anton zlo have been expanded in this release, and a full set of French translations has now been provided by @Sobeirannovaocc and @Freedmoon ! This is great news for players using Russian and French, so please be sure to show your appreciation for their hard work and efforts.
Just a few final words before I go here. I plan on doing another episode of the My Colony Podcast soon, probably at the beginning of next week. People seem to be enjoying the show, so I will be making it a regular thing again. If you haven't checked it out yet, please do! Next, I plan to have a multiplayer beta for Colony Wars soon(ish). I wanted it to be done by the end of this month, but coding the AI is taking a bit longer than I had planned. I've got it now to where the AI will build their base, but they are still a bit too stupid at it. The beta will be coming before long though, and it is going to include the map editor, as well as multiplayer, supporting LAN/Online/ and AI skirmish. I hope to have the multiplayer matchmaking server running by the end of next week, so that I can get some people online to test the multiplayer out.
Anyway, that is all for today's My Colony update. It should be hitting all platforms throughout the weekend here. I plan on starting the next My Colony update (v0.83.0) on March 1 (I am actually half way planning things now), so get those bug reports filed before then. I know a lot of people think I do not read the reports since I do not post replies, but that is not the case. I just do not see the need to post "Ok" or "Thanks" at the end of each bug report.
Stay tuned for more, and thanks for playing the game!!

Update- I successfully uploaded my other city in 5 seconds loaded right away.
The "outlander" city is the main that I'm trying to restore, if I click load saves, the outlander is in my load saves but when I click to load it I get the same "attempting to restore backup" I've downloaded all the mycolony files from my tablet to the pc. I cannot find anymore still not restoring, even though that secondary colony restored literally in 5 seconds :/

Help! My colony [Alpha Two] is not loading. I am on a Mac and have My Colony installed.
For the past two weeks or so, I had no problem loading my colony. I would load up My Colony, and simply click on [Alpha Two] and it would load up with no problems.
However, for the past three days or so, when I try to load [Alpha Two], it says "Attempting to Restore backup..."
Im stuck as to why this is happening, as I have not touched any My Colony files.
Is there any way I can fix this? I do not know the charter code unfortunately, as I never wrote it down. I spent over 3 days on the colony and had a population of 189k (i think) and am really hoping I don't have to restart a new colony.
If you know of a way to fix this please let me know!!
Best,
Deadman123321

Have you ever wanted to back up your entire region in My Colony with one click? Yes I know you have, since I have seen the suggestions and emails. Well, with the upcoming v1.5.0, you can now do just that!
This has to be done from the main region overview map. Open up game stats and go to the Game Data section at the bottom, and you will see a new backup section.
This will back up your entire region into one single file (new file format, *.mcr). To restore a region backup, go to More Options at the title screen, select Game Data, and then "Restore a Region." Simple as that. The backup and restore process may take a minute on large regions.

Today I am putting the final touches on My Colony v1.5.0 which should be going out to all platforms soon. This release is more of a quality of life and engine improvement update, which are generally my least favorite to work on because they take forever to get done and at the end it doesn't look like you've really accomplished anything. This is as opposed to a content update where I just spend a day drawing 10 new buildings and then everybody thinks I made a huge update!
Still though, there was important work needing to be done to the My Colony engine, and it received quite a bit. I have been promising Mass Transit for a while now, and I started working on it for this release, although it ended up being just a little more complicated than it was when I was mapping it out in my head. I have implemented a small part of it in this update to see how it works in the wild, and if it doesn't screw everything up it will be greatly expanded in the updates ahead. Don't worry, if it does screw something up, from my testing, the screw up will be in the favor of the player, but I will talk about Mass Transit more a bit later. First let's take a look at what's been added since the last release!
First of all, @Sobeirannovaocc a while ago had provided me with an initial batch of Chinese language translations for the game that I have finally added in, which I believe were worked on by @GeneralWadaling and perhaps others (maybe one of them will elaborate in the comments who all provided the work), and I know a lot of people are going to be grateful to have these new translations in the game. So a big thank you to everybody who worked on the Chinese translations for this release!
If you play on a desktop class device using a mouse, the Display Mode popup has been replaced by a smaller context menu, which I felt was more appropriate on a desktop device.
Likewise, right-clicking on an option in the build sidebar now gives you a new "Bookmark" option, which allows you to add your favorite buildings to a new Bookmarks list, which will appear as an option in your build categories dropdown. This way you can create your own custom list of buildings that you like best. Bookmarks are saved on a per-city basis.
I know there is an issue , recently reiterated to me by @Electrogamer1943 , where iPhones can not bring up the long-press context menus in the game, due to their 3D Force Touch gesture. I put in a little code that might mitigate the issue, but at the time of this writing I did not have an iPhone on hand to test it out yet, so I give it a 50/50 chance of being fixed. If it's not, I will just have to switch to a double-tap style gesture for iPhones.
Moving right along. Ever since Regions were created, there has been an issue where people can not back up Region save files, since behind the scenes a Region is broken out into multiple save files, and the existing backup utility would only export the regional overview map, making it impossible to backup a region on most devices. This issue has now been addressed, and I have now added two new ways to backup your game files in this update.
The first new method is in the Game Statistics screen, down in the Game Data tab. You will see a new "Backup Copy" option at the bottom which will export a backup of your save file to your computer or device. If you are in a region, you must do this from the Region Overview map. Once you have your backup, you can re-import it into the game from the Game Data menu on the title screen.
Now if you are playing on a tablet or desktop, there is another new interface for managing your game data. When you click on Load Colony at the title screen, you will be presented with the new Load Colony window.
From this window, you can manage all of your saved files, see detailed information about each, conduct backups and delete old games. You also have hyperlink access to your colony's websites on both my-colony.com and on Coloniae. Keep in mind that the extended information for your save files will not show up until you have opened them at least once using v1.5.0 or newer.
Next up, the Auto Trade feature has been completely reworked in this release, and is no longer directly tied to the Galactic Board of Trade. Auto Trade now conducts resource Imports and Exports, at the prices you would normally get from buildings like the Galactic Freight or the Star Gate. While on the surface this does make it a worse deal as the Import/Export features come with massive fees and penalties, for many resources it will actually be better for the player, as a large percentage of the Auto Trade contracts on the GBT had previously gone unsold.
This will also go a long way towards cleaning up the GBT, since it has become so loaded with Auto Trade contracts set in unusual quantities, that it was difficult to find anything real.
Switching Auto Trade to the Import/Export facility did bring another change though, in the form of Global Resource Pools on the My Colony server. This facility is largely invisible to the player, but does have an impact on the overall resource price. Whenever a resource is exported in the game, the quantity is added to the Global Resource Pool on the server. Likewise, an import reduces the quantity of the global pool. The server watches the levels of these new global pools and uses that information to calculate the demand of various resources, and can make pricing adjustments accordingly. The server also has the ability to purchase contracts on the GBT if a resource pool is empty, although to prevent gaming of the system it will not purchase any contracts that are not priced in a range that the server sees as reasonable.
The new trading system might potentially have a large impact on the GBT and on pricing in general (hopefully a positive impact) so I will be monitoring it over the coming days/weeks to see what tweaks are needed. This new system can largely be tweaked from the server, so any fix should be able to be implemented without requiring a game update.
To go along with this change, the Import/Export feature has been added directly to the GBT, and as long as you have a GBT building you can now import and export resources at maximum quantity from one centralized location.
Now let's talk a bit more about Mass Transit. The ultimate goal is to have transit capabilities within a city and across a region. For this update, I have started with the Regional transit first, as it has the larger implication to the game engine and requires the most work.
For this first release of the feature, Human colonies get a new structure called the Regional Busing Authority, which is unlocked with the new Public Transportation technology. As of this update, you can build this structure on a non-region game, but it won't really do anything. On a region game though, each bus stop adds to your city's regional transit capacity (in this case, each stop adds 250). This capacity allows your citizens to travel between neighboring cities on the regional map for work. So if you have a transit capacity of 250 in your city, it means that 250 citizens can work in a different city, and also 250 citizens can work in your city from a neighboring city. Note that it is 250 both ways in separate pools, so the total citizens moving back and forth can be 500.
When the game decided what jobs are going to be filled, they all go to local residents first, the same as it has always worked. However, when jobs are left unfilled, for whatever reason, the game looks at which neighboring cities have unemployed workers available. If unemployed workers are available, the jobs will fill up from those available workers, up to the point that your transit capacity is used up, provided there are bus stops in range of your worksites. Likewise, if you have unemployed workers, they will look at the jobs available in neighboring cities and fill them up to the point that your outgoing transit capacity is used up, provided there are bus stops in range of their houses.
Right now the bus stop range is super high, so I think one bus stop pretty much covers any small or medium sized map, which is all you have in a region. I don't expect it to stay like that though, so bus stops should ideally be placed throughout the city.
The Economy tab on the Game Statistics window will give you some idea of what is going on with your mass transit. Under the number of total unemployed, you will now see a Remote Workers stat, which tells you how many of your people are working in neighboring cities. Likewise, in the pie graph below, the number of filled jobs is now broken down into Local Workers and Foreign Commuters, telling you how many of your jobs are being filled by workers from neighboring cities.
There is still a lot of work to be done on the Mass Transit, but it actually has pretty big implications for the way Region games are played, as it is now possible to separate out your housing from your industry. It still needs to be refined, and I need to add the ability for colonists to actually migrate from one city to the next, and that is coming soon.
To go along with Mass Transit, I have added the capability for buildings to add non-player Decorative Units to the game. You can see this when you build a bus stop, you will now see small bus rovers driving around your town.
These units do not actually do anything, they just serve to make your city look more alive. I plan on adding other kinds of decorative units soon, such as police cars and ambulances.
So that about wraps it up for this release. The next update will continue to build out the Mass Transit, bringing it to other races and making it work within a city itself. Beyond that, I also need to do a complete overhaul of Multiplayer Regions, which are barely functional at the moment. This is the next item on the list after I finish Mass Transit.
Thank you all for playing the game, keep the suggestions coming, and let me know what issues you find in this release!

Thank you all for playing the game, keep the suggestions coming, and let me know what issues you find in this release!
you probably can't see the backup file on your phone, but when your phone is attached you have to go to your phone files on your pc and if it's good you have to see a map from my colony and in that map there need to be the backup file.
This was on the web version.
I saved my game file, went to the main menu, made a file backup, and attempted to reopen the game. I got stuck on "attempting to restore backup." I then imported my backup, and my colony is now a two-man colony with no buildings, but with all of my resources banked before the save.
Apparently my old colony still exists.
Thoughts?

I'm not sure when it happened but sometime with the last few days, My colony has started not letting me open the game. All of my local saved games can't be loaded, even the ones backed up online, there was an Android14 update, plus the bug fix release. In my attempt to troubleshoot the game, I started a few new colonies, and got the same error, however, today I keep seeing an error that may be the clue. I'm getting a compression error trying to auto save, maybe android 14 changed the compression scheme during the update ?.
I'm trying to figure out how to load previous versions of the game, but haven't figured that out yet. Any help?

Ok, reset my tablet, game loads until the latest android update runs, then it starts doing the uncompress loop
I am looking at the error logs for the most recent version of the game, the only thing I am seeing a lot of are out of memory errors, probably happening when the game is trying to decompress the save file. I wonder if the latest Android update added some kind of new memory usage cap for apps?

Im having the same issue currently. Whenever i load a colony my game says 'save compression error'. The game will run but wont allow me to direct the bots to the tasks i need them to.
I am also having the same issue, same thing with the bots as tbwner, I went back to my old phone to see if it worked and it did fine.
It's definitely something in the latest android update.. when I reset my pixel, it plays until the last android 14 update hits.
Then it says, failed to open game for current games,
And because of the encryption error it never saves new games.
I can send you my pixel tab if you want.. can't give up the pixel phone

I play on chromeos. As I mentioned in another thread, my colony is stuck unable to build anything, the bots just won't respond. I seem to have also stopped producing food for some unknown reason, so all my colonists are dying, despite many food production facilities.
Whatever is going on, I just want to back out to before the glitch. When I go to game data, and select delete files, it shows 2 files for this colony, the mcz save game file, and the mcb backup. I'd love to restore the backup. Unfortunately, despite the delete dialog seeing these files, my file system does not. I have searched the entire file system, and they simply don't seem to exist.
Any ideas where to find that backup file to restore?

Try making a manual backup and load that file. To make a manual backup, on the title screen got 'more options'>'game data'> 'backup game file' and select the colony you are currently playing on.
Then follow the same path, but instead of making a backup, do 'restore game file'. And see if the saving works or not

Where is your region saved?
Here is the issue, Regions are not a single file, but a collection or files, consisting of your main overall region, and then a file for each individual city. If CloudSync was disabled when the region was created, then all of the individual cities are only saved on the device they were started on. Which is probably why they will not open for you on the Web App.
To get them to sync, you need to have Cloud Sync on, and then open each individual region city on the device where they are saved.
The same goes for the backup. You can backup an entire region from the Load Colony window (the window does not show up on mobile, but does on a large screen device), but it only works if all of the region cities are available on the device you are trying to backup from.
Backup for Regions I am pretty sure is working on the PWA. I will check the Launcher, but I don't see why it would be different there. You select your region from the Load Colony window and click the blue Backup Colony button in the middle.
But again like I said, the entire problem is the fact that Regions are broken up into many files, and if they are not all located on the same device, then it's not going to work.
The entire Region system is something of a mess on MC1 for players who use multiple devices, which I realize, and was the reason why MC2 was designed in a completely different way. Regions were sort of shoehorned in long after the base game mechanics of MC1 were created. There is not exactly a "clean" way to fix it without a major overhaul or ruining a bunch of existing game saves.

Update 2...restoring old backups of that colony crashes the game... Attempted to Port that colony to desktop...stuck on attempting to restore backup.. I was able to use the emergency recovery and get on but now unfortunately I'm stuck on desktop I made a new save copy on my desktop transported it back to my phone to try and restore with a new file and it still crashes so now I'm stuck on the desktop and cannot play my Colony on my phone

Hello,
today I tried to play my save (created on Android version) on my desktop but couldn't, it says that game file is corrupted.
I exported it from the Android version via Game Data -> Backup Game File, then transfered via FTP and tried to import.
When I manually placed the .mcz file in My Colony directory in Documents it said that the save is corrupted when I tried to load it.
When I tried to import it via in-game menu it was stuck on Attempting to restore backup.
I tried both the classic desktop version and Windows Store version (this one shows info about corrupt save even when I import via in-game menus).
The Android app version is 0.75.1, the desktop app version is 0.75.0.
I played this game a year ago or so and had some saves which I deleted. Now every time I start the game, the files get recreated with zero file size, I don't know if this is related any way but I find it strange.
Are there any other locations where My Colony stores some data so that I could delete it all and try to start fresh?
Thanks.

I believe multi regions are very experimental so they may be more subject to corruption, idk (never played one)
Well if you only lost one city it's not that bad. Is it stuck on "restoring backup" or does it kick you out saying "save file corrupted!" ?

It's just stuck on restoring backup.
Does the ape app cloud data work for anyone? I've sync all my data from the game to the cloud, went to the cloud and it showed a list of all my colonies, clicked on one to start dowloading, it stared right away but right before it gets to 100% it restarts, and it does this for a while until eventually it says "Failed- File incomplete" Am I doing something wrong here?

I am playing My Colony Build v1.9.0 on my web browser, and what happened is when I made a new game, entered it, and played for a while, then saved and exited, the save was gone. When I tried to go back into that game, it said "Attempting to restore backup." It was stuck on that screen for at least 10 minutes (not a hyperbole, I just went away for 10 minutes and it was still like that), and then I gave up and went back to the main menu. When I tried to use the "Load Save" option, there wasn't a single game I could load. I tried again, creating a new game, building for maybe a half-hour, and then saving and quitting. This time it actually saved my game and I could reenter. After playing for a bit more, I exited and saved. This time, I couldn't go back in and that save file was also gone from the Load Colony option. I haven't deleted any files or reset my computer, I don't know what I did that caused this, and I'm not willing to try again and again.
Hello guys!
May I proudly present my fan lore about the history of My Colony Universe!
The calendars and year used would be Earth ones.
Time of the Ancients (??? ~ 1.2 billion years before Alpha Draconians)
Once there was a thriving old civilization ruled over the Milky Way Galaxy, which now they are called the Ancients. Even for the Alpha Draconians, there are limited documents about their history. The following will state the events recorded and decoded so far.
Rise of Reptilians (~4.1 ~ 2.8 million years before human history)
The Disappearance of the Ancients gave rise to the Reptilian immigrants, though discovered a bit lately, they began expanding further into the empty Milky Way Galaxy. Later the Reptilian Empire of Alpha Draconians was formed on the foundations of the disappeared Empire.
The Revival of Insectoid Civilization (~20th century of Human timeline)
Insectoids were being enslaved by Alpha Draconians for millions of years. However, an uprising changed the fate of the Insectoids, which led to the revival of the long lost Insectoid civilization, in the form of the Zolarg Empire.
Old Earth Era (year --~2051)
The Old Earth Era is the time of human history before United Earth. The Old Earth Era is when humans begin exploring more parts of the galaxy, as well as beginning extensive colonization on new planets.
Rebirth of Humanity (2051-2061)
Right after the Grand Collapse which marked the end of the Old Earth Era, humanity on Earth was in massive chaos, while most colonies outside Earth were deserted and had to survive on their own. Until the United Earth reunited humanity.
Rise of Humanity (2061-2083)
The New Era referred to the early times of United Earth after the recovery from the Old Earth era disaster. It was another golden age in human history, human civilization beginning to rise quickly in the Milky Way Galaxy. Despite opportunities, there were also new unknown challenges.
Human Civil War (2083-2084)
This was one of the most impactful wars in the Galaxy. Yes, it's name is Human Civil War, however, things were not simple as most thought at that time - it eventually involved the 3 major civilizations of the Galaxy, and also gave birth to the fourth major civilization. The war also impacted the future patterns in the Milky Way Galaxy.
New Galactic Era of the Milky Way Galaxy (From 2084 on)
The Human Civil War and the Alpha Draconian Invasion during the war, had drawn the major civilizations closer. The New Galactic Era was the time things in the Milky Way began developing in galactic scale and perspectives.
Who knows what the future holds?
Hopefully the timeline looked decent and reasonable for My Colony Universe!
Thanks for reading!
Notes: not all events are 100% accurate.
May I proudly present my fan lore about the history of My Colony Universe!

- The Old Holy Galactic Empire (???).
That was the oldest trace of the Ancients found. - Galaxian-Titan War (???).
There were very old literature records about this war. The war between the Holy Empire and the warlike colossus Titan civilization. There are still some rare Titan relics found in the Milky Way, though some historians doubted the reliability of them.
The war was supposed to put the Titans to extinction. - The Old Dark Galactic Empire (???).
Somehow the old Empire turned to the dark side. From this time on, the documents about them are more difficult to find. - Reptilian Exodus to the Milky Way (~3 billion years ago before Alpha Draconians).
The first record of Reptilian immigrants into the Milky Way from another galaxy. Some documents from Alpha Draconians stated their ancestors were nomads with only mostly low tech equipment. - Galaxian-Reptilian Wars (~2.3 billion years ago before Alpha Draconians).
The continuous immigration of Reptilians caused conflicts between these new migrants and the master of the Galaxy. However, the Reptilians were not expelled from the Milky Way successfully, an armistice was signed after prolonged warfare. Reptilians stopped immigration in exchange for peace. - Disappearance of the Old Galactic Empire (~1.2 billion years before Alpha Draconians).
The largest mystery of galactic history - the disappearance of the Ancients. Most existence of the vast Empire vanished just in a… flash, leaving most parts of the Milky Way Galaxy abandoned. Some radioisotopic dating recorded most ether pollutants of abandoned Ancient cities appeared since the event.
- The Reptilian Kingdoms (~0.6 million years before Alpha Draconians).
The Reptilians recognized the disappearance of The Ancients as scout ships were sent after years losing contact with them. Seeing this as an opportunity to expand their borders without anybody to stop them, the nomadic Reptilians soon reorganized themselves as the Reptilian Kingdoms. - Great Reptilian Expeditions (~0.5 million years before Alpha Draconians ~ 0.3 million years before Alpha Draconians).
Hundreds of expeditions were conducted by various Lords during the Kingdoms era. They salvaged most remaining technologies of the Ancients, however unable to decode all the data at this moment as their limited knowledge of these high end technologies. Some new Reptilian major cities rose from these ruins. - The Warring Lords (~0.3 million years before Alpha Draconians ~ 10 years before Alpha Draconians).
The powerful artifacts of the Ancients impressed the Reptilians - those supposed to bring prosperity to the entire race, however, became the source of ambitions for the Reptilian Lords. Thousand years of wars, were only for scrambling for these powerful gadgets. - Reptilian Unification War (~10 years before Alpha Draconians).
Kingdom of Draconis was the weakest kingdom among the Reptilians, until the time of Lord Alphari - influence of Draconis rose to new heights, threatening the strongest Reptilian Lords. Lord Alphari defeated all the Reptilian Lords in a 10-year long war, successfully unifying the entire Reptilian race for the first time since the immigration. - Birth of the Reptilian Empire - Alpha Draconians (~3.5 million years before human history).
Lord Alphari established the new unified Empire of the Reptilians, named Alpha Draconians, with the national motto ‘Rising from the Harshest to be the Strongest’. Alphari was the first Overlord of the Empire. - Successful Decoding of the Ancient Artifacts (~3.5 million years before human history).
One of another most impactful achievements of Overlord Alphari was, he supported, and later personally participated in the research of Ancient language decoding. With more plentiful resource support than ever, most major elements of the Ancient language were decoded, which allowed the Alpha Draconians to reverse-engineer these technologies, turning the undeveloped Reptilian civilization into one of the most brutal Galactic superpower, inherited with the most powerful technologies. - Glorious Conquests (~2.8 million years before human history).
Another greatest conquest of Alpha Draconians took place under the rule of Overlord Ks'khip. This famous Overlord of Destruction put an end to and enslaved thousands of minor civilizations scattered in the Milky Way Galaxy, which one of the civilizations includes Insectoids, providing highly reproductive slaves. This conquest created the foundation of core Alpha Draconian territory.
Right after such a successful conquest which brought Alpha Draconians to the peak golden age, the Reptilians began referring to themselves as ‘the descendants of the Ancients’. - Secretive Galactic Domination Doctrine (~2.8 million years before human history).
This doctrine formulated by the Overlord Ks'krupp, the descendant of Ks'khip, advocated the secretive way ruling the vast territory of the Empire spreading and maintaining influence by utilizing covert agents to control regions with minimal signs, which helps shaping the image of Alpha Draconians as an unreachable deity. Such doctrine impacted the future development of Alpha Draconians.
- The Uprising on Draconis 12 (~1920s of Human timeline).
It was a historical turning point for both Alpha Draconians and Insectoids. The uprising led by the Insectoid Zolarg successfully overwhelmed the colonial government, and purged all the Reptilian existence on the planet. Freed from slavery, these first group of freedom fighters formed Zolarg Empire right on this planet - which the planet was renamed Zolarg Prime, and the uprising leader Zolarg became the first Emperor of the revivaled Insectoid civilization. The uprising also first revealed the corrupted, weakened national strength of the seemingly invincible Alpha Draconians, who were still blinded by their national pride. - The Insectoid Uprising Movements (1920~1950s of Human timeline).
Encouraged and inspired by the success of Zolarg's uprising, Insectoid slaves over Alpha Draconians also followed the same path revolting against slavery. Though not all had been successful, the Insectoids successfully took over an unimaginable number of Alpha Draconian colonies and cities. Most of the Insectoids who earned their freedom joined the Zolarg Empire to fight against the enemy of their ancestors. - The Revival War (1950~1970s of Human timeline).
Despite the success overcoming the slavery forces of their slave camps, the Insectoids had something more overwhelming to handle - the formidable regular forces of Alpha Draconians, trying to regain control on their slaves. Yet under the united command under Emperor Zolarg, they managed to defeat Alpha Draconian regular forces in this 27 year long war, using the new subterranean guerilla tactics. The war recorded heavy casualties of both sides, however, Alpha Draconians stalled their operations against the Insectoids, which earned extra time for the Zolarg Empire to fortify themselves and settle down some basic administration matters. - ‘Groot Opwekkingsplan’ (1970~2010s of human timeline).
This period was also known as the ‘Great Revival Period’, the period when Emperor Zolarg formulated the policies for the early Zolarg Empire, to rebuild, strengthen and revive the Insectoid civilization, to restore the dignity of the Insectoid race. Under the common efforts of the Insectoids, with the help from both knowledge from the ancestors and some basic industrial knowledge from Alpha Draconians, the foundations of the Zolarg Empire were built up. The fast-rising Zolarg Empire became a supernova of galactic power at the end of the Revival Plan. - Declaration of Insectoid Liberation (~1990s of human timeline).
Emperor Zolarg made a declaration on behalf of his Empire to Alpha Draconians - the Zolarg Empire, will liberate the remaining brothers and sisters under slavery at all costs. The Declaration established the long term aim of the wars against Alpha Draconians.
Old Earth Era (year --~2051)
The Old Earth Era is the time of human history before United Earth. The Old Earth Era is when humans begin exploring more parts of the galaxy, as well as beginning extensive colonization on new planets.
- The Jameson Formulas (2027).
The genius scientist Professor ‘Einstein Jr.’ Lob Jameson published a paper about special formulas of space continuum mechanics. These formulas make a breakthrough on long range space traveling technologies. - First Practical Hyperdrive Engine (2030).
With the help of Jameson Formulas, the first practical hyperdrive engine in human history was created by the team of Project Next Sun. The innovation was named Jameson Engine. - Journey of USP Discovery (2031-2033).
The USP Discovery is a test object for the Jameson Engine. The probe was launched by NASA of the USA in the year 2035. It had successfully taken photos and data recording of stars and planets at locations about a lightyear away, and at last hyperjumped back to Earth after 3 years of missions, with excellent integrity conditions maintained. - Planetary Decay Theory (2031)
Ecologists and geologists discovered a strange phenomenon taking place on Earth, the important resources, from the minerals to the oil, began decaying into unrecyclable, unusable forms. It was suspected that this decaying was catalysed by climate change.
A theory was formulated predicting the depletion of vital resources within years and this must be stopped. However, most people did not believe this theory to be true, until the Global Resource Crisis. - The Space Colonization Race (2032-2047)
With long range space travelling became more possible at that time, a new space race was ignited globally - from the global powers to the most underdeveloped countries, from government bodies to independent organisations, they had their own aims. Some seek for wealth and resources, some seek for opportunities and a new start, some seek for knowledge and discovery. It was a milestone for humanity - first attempts for an extensive space colonization in history. - Global Resource Crisis (2038-2050)
The worries stated in the Planetary Decay Theory was proven a fact in 2038, beginning with the abnormal depletion of oil fields in Arabia - the black gold turned into black, harmful, indecomposable sludges.
For the coming years, more vital resources from iron ores to rare earth metals decayed into sand and dust, which greatly impacted the global economy at the foundations. Which eventually caused all space colonization programmes abandoned by Earth in the year 2047. - Miracle Formula (2050)
The Project SEED ecologists from colonies discovered the Miracle Formula, which included a method to reverse the process of planetary decay. It was sent to Earth in the year 2050. - Restoration of Earth (2051)
Terraforming devices derived from the Miracle Formula successfully restored Earth back to the conditions about 150 years ago within a year, which saved the entire humanity on the Earth. - The Grand Collapse (2051)
Although Earth had been saved from a catastrophe, however, the existing governments no longer had any capabilities maintaining the nations, after years hammered by the economic impacts from such a disaster. The world fell into the status of anarchy.
Rebirth of Humanity (2051-2061)
Right after the Grand Collapse which marked the end of the Old Earth Era, humanity on Earth was in massive chaos, while most colonies outside Earth were deserted and had to survive on their own. Until the United Earth reunited humanity.
- United Nations Dissolved (2051)
Without any valid members at all, and at risk of ‘bankruptcy’, the United Nations officially dissolved, with all its assets sold at the end of the year, to a group of plutocrats who had survived the crisis. - Formation of United Earth (2052)
The legacies of the United Nations were reused by these plutocrats, they rebranded the old international governmental body into a new organisation the United Earth, aimed to restore prosperity and order of the Old Earth. - Earth Reunification War (2054-2055)
After 2 years of preparation though gathering weapons and manpower from black markets and government fire sales, the global military campaign was launched by United Earth. In the 1.4 year long war, United Earth brought the major cities and regions under their control.
The rise of United Earth was inevitable to the rest of the world. It had pressured the remaining regions, no matter at war or not, surrendered and accepted annexation at the end of the war. - Official Establishment of United Earth (2056)
A month after the end of the Reunification War, the main official governmental structure of United Earth was established - The President taking the leader role of the government, with the General Assembly responsible to the President.
The General Assembly is the decision making centre of the United Earth, composed of representatives from different administrative regions to show a certain extent of democracy. However, the President still has absolute veto power in the General Assembly, in addition to a series of exclusive powers. - Restarting of Colonization Programmes (2061)
With the Earth gradually stabilized and having the economy restored back to early 21th century standards, United Earth announced the recontinuation of space colonization projects abandoned by the Old Earth. This included re-establishing control on the remaining surviving Old Earth era colonies.
The restarting of colonization was regarded as the dawn of the United Earth era in human history - from that time on, human civilization began to develop and expand faster than ever.
- First Reformation of Security Council (2063-2065)
The national security agency of the United Earth, Security Council, went under a series of reformation from 2063 to 2065, improving and fostering the efficiency of peacekeeping missions on Earth and foreign colonies, as well as established a controversial high pressure security regulation called AEGIS Protocol. - Formation of Space Marines (2068)
In order to protect foreign colonies and Earth from potential Alien threats, United Earth Space Marines (UESM) was formed.
Space Marines gradually replaced Peacekeepers security forces of the United Earth as the official military. - First Official Contacts with Minor Alien Civilization (2069)
United Earth colonization fleets discovered an underdeveloped alien civilization on the planet Hakenduz-35. United Earth officially contacted the Hakenduzians, establishing the first diplomatic relations with an alien race. - Alien Membership System (2071)
With more and more minor alien civilizations discovered, United Earth saw that as an opportunity of wealth and influence. In order to convince them sharing their resources with United Earth, an Alien Membership System was established, allowing alien member states to enjoy a series of benefits including protection from Space Marines and preferential treatment on trades. In return, the alien member states had to pay yearly membership fees. - First Starship in Human History (2071)
The first starship of United Earth, UES Ark, finished construction in 2071, Martian Industries shipyard on Mars orbit. UES Ark was a prototype long range colony ship, built for exploration and colonization of the Icarus System. - Deimos Events (2072)
It was a legend of the legendary Space Marines elite squad led by Sarge, a story to save Earth from an evil artificial intelligence - though, with some confidential details which United Earth decided to keep it secret, rumored to be time travel to erase history of a parallel timeline. - Wormhole Navigation Technology (2075)
A set of technological advancements in space navigation technology allowed safe traveling of wormholes, which the wormholes act as a great shortcut for expanding into further regions.
- Secret Independence Society (~2068)
The Secret Independence Society (SIS) was the predecessor of the League of Independent States. It was established shortly after United Earth began using high pressure policies to tighten control on the colonies. The SIS worked in secret, cooperated with suppressed people and black markets. Their ultimate aim was to bring true freedom to humanity, freeing them from the internally corrupted ‘tyranny’ of United Earth. They are also one of the earliest groups of humans who made contact with another major civilization in the Galaxy (to be specific, Zolarg Empire) far before United Earth even acknowledged their existence.
Their existence remained very much not known by the United Earth until the outbreak of the Civil War. - The Alpha Draconian Conspiracy (around a few months before the outbreak of war)
It had been a tough time for Alpha Draconians since the Insectoid slave uprising events. To restore the national pride of Alpha Draconians and to find resources repairing the badly impacted economy, Overlord Betahan decided to prepare a secret invasion on humans, picking the timing humans were at the blink of civil war.
At the same time, another conspiracy took place internally - the rivalry between the Overlord and the Lords of Inner Circle. - Terra Nova Incident (2083)
The Incident was the fuse of this war. Everything started with Terra Nova boycotting the heavy taxation of United Earth. Unable to bring the situation under control through conventional routines, United Earth decided to take the most violent military action against Terra Nova (which such decision was partly due to Alpha Draconian covert agents secretly intervened the General Assembly, to accelerate the outbreak of war).
The incident provided an excellent excuse and opportunity for SIS to throw up a nationwide independence war. SIS militias ambushed the Space Marines in Terra Nova, liberated the colony, and officially declared war on United Earth.
From that time on SIS was officially renamed as the League of Independent States (LIS). - Zolarg Empire Entry into the War (2083)
Before the war, LIS secretly signed an alliance pact with the Zolarg Empire a few months ago (for different aims respectively, but both sides were seeking bilateral support).
LIS called for Zolarg reinforcements under strong countermeasures of the United Earth. The entry of the Zolarg Empire into the Human Civil War had successfully put the United Earth into a war of two fronts, however the overall situation had not improved very much, the war turned into a stalemate afterwards. - Barracuda Blues Events, and Alpha Draconian Invasion (2084)
United Earth discovered an Alpha Draconian secret stronghold with an army of war droids (built for invading humans) in the colony Barracuda Blues, mistaken as an abandoned military research facility. United Earth sent scientists to the site in order to obtain unknown technologies that could help them win the war against LIS.
The discovery at Barracuda Blues was the result of political rivalry in Alpha Draconians, the Inner Circle attempted to sabotage Overlord's invasion plans.
The true identity of the facility and the ‘mysterious machines’ was not known by humans, until similar Alpha Draconian war machines of similar models popped out from nowhere, attacking human colonies and cities - The beginning of Alpha Draconian Invasion, an unexpected event during the civil war. - Battles Against Alpha Draconians (2084)
At the beginning of the Invasion, Alpha Draconians had been successful that they had occupied over half of United Earth territory.
Under a common threat from afar, the United Earth, LIS and the Zolarg Empire agreed to put a pause on the civil war, and formed a temporary alliance to expel Alpha Draconian intruders. Their joint operations successfully recapture human territory one by one, slowly setting the intruders back.
Alpha Draconian Invasion ends after the decisive Battle of Barracuda Blues, the last main portal stronghold destroyed by the alliance, all the Alpha Draconian forces in human territory were shortly destroyed. - Continuation Human Civil War (2084)
The civil war was not over.
Despite victories repelling Alpha Draconian invasion, the forces of United Earth, LIS and Zolarg were almost exhausted in fierce battles with Alpha Draconians (especially after the Siege of Barracuda Blues), little resources they had to continue a large scale war.
While the Zolarg Empire quitted the war by signing a white peace with the United Earth, both LIS and United Earth sought an opportunity to conclude the war in a single battle.
The Battle of Kaisergrounds was the end point of the Human Civil War, the only but the last battle after the Invasion event. Kaisergrounds was a strategic stronghold which was the important gateway to the core economic regions of United Earth. The battle ended with the United Earth forces regained control of the planet, it had contributed United Earth a strategic victory.
- Armistice of Hoxton (2084)
The Armistice of Hoxton officially ended the Human Civil War, despite it being just an armistice. The armistice defined the United Earth-LIS border in the future, which the border line was known as the Hoxton Line.
To conclude, nobody had won a total victory in the Human Civil War, however, each side won alternatively - United Earth won a strategic victory which LIS could no longer push deeply into the core territories, while LIS achieved their primary aim of gaining independence. - Official Establishment of League of Independent States (2084)
The League of the Independent States was officially established 3 months after the Armistice of Hoxton was in effect. The League promised fairness, autonomy and freedom to the member states as stated in the Declaration of Independence.
The League of the Independent States had no actual leader in power. Instead, each member state cooperates under the common principles, bearing the common responsibilities protecting people of the League.
Though the establishment of LIS was officially recognized by their ally Zolarg Empire, the United Earth General Assembly declared they would never accept any rogue states in their ethnic territory. - The Midnight Coup (~2084)
With the failure of invasion on humans, the core Reptilian society of Alpha Draconians lost all confidence in Overlord Betahan. Shortly after the end of invasion the Overlord was assassinated by Inner Circle covert agents.
However, it did not put an end on the political crisis in Alpha Draconians, the coup further made everything worse instead. Every Lord of Inner Circle schemed to reach the throne of ultimate power, however there could only be one supreme ruler in Alpha Draconians. In order to secure the thrones for selves, the Lords fell into a status of internal political war.
The absence of Overlord, and the internal political instability, catalysed the decay of Alpha Draconian influence in the Galaxy. - Emerging of New Galactic Empire (2086)
The decayed Alpha Draconian influence after the Midnight Coup were not able to maintain control on a number of puppet states and territories, they began to break away from the Alpha Draconians.
This had also given rise to the mysterious organization New Galactic Empire, who then annexed part of the states that broke away from Alpha Draconians. They called themselves the true descendants of the Old Galactic Empire, who carried the ‘inevitable destiny’ reviving the old Imperial glory.
Though the ambitious organisation lacked strength to compete with any of the galactic powers in the Milky Way at the moment, the powers actually worried the ‘New Empire’ could be a large threat to them in the future, given their capabilities spreading influence at an unprecedented rate. - Further Discoveries in Barracuda Blues (2086)
United Earth sent another research team investigating the remains of the Alpha Draconian stronghold and facilities. The team revealed a fact about Alpha Draconian technologies - they were derived from the Ancient technologies recorded on the ancient artifacts.
The discovery further fostered the research and decoding on the information on the artifacts of the Ancients in United Earth. - Bradley's Military Reform (2086-2093)
The new head of the United Earth Security Council, Marshal Bradley (which was the supreme commander throughout the Human Civil War), threw up a massive military reformation in order to suppress the military capabilities of LIS, including expanding the scale of Space Marines and especially the Starfleet (which the number of starships during the Civil War barely met demands on the battlefields), written a new professionalism military doctrine, and supported the development of new generation starships. - LIS Black Market Trade Union (2088)
The blockades and embargo on LIS by United Earth had cut down most of the methods for LIS to contact the outside world. In order to survive and maintain development under the difficult conditions, LIS officially established the LIS Black Market Trade Union which facilitates external and domestic trade of their member states. - Galactic Colonization Race (2102~???)
Seeking for further power in the Milky Way Galaxy for their own aims, the 4 civilizations of the Galaxy entered the galactic colonization race one by one. Alpha Draconians started the race, who were desperate to restore their ‘superiority’ in the Galaxy despite political instability.
From the centre of the Galaxy to the Outer Rims, they were all targets of colonization. - United Earth Ancient Archives (2109)
The Archives is a department of United Earth which is responsible for regulating research and usage related to Ancient alien technologies. Apart from regulations, they also take part in the research of the ancient technologies. Since the Archives existed United Earth had better progress extracting ancient knowledge with better organisation. - Chaos in Alpha Draconis and Restoration of Overlord (2112)
Oligarchists in Alpha Draconis had been dissatisfied with the absence of Overlord for a period of time. With the old culture of Reptilians being harmed, these angry nobles stirred up chaos in the capital city, urging the restoration of Overlord.
Without any other ways to suppress or pacify them, the Lords of the Inner Circle could only do as what these (lower) nobles asked them to (well, since their own plans were also disrupted due to the chaos).
The exiled younger brother of the previous Overlord Betahan, Deltahan, was put to the throne. Despite being an Overlord, most actual powers were still in the hands of the Inner Circle, Deltahan was just nothing more than a puppet. - Zolarg Scholars Journey to United Earth (2113)
A team of scholars from the Zolarg Empire, led by the Imperial High Scholar Abbe Amber, set off to United Earth for a study trip of human technologies.
Scholars and scientists of the United Earth and the Zolarg Empire exchanged each other's knowledge and culture. While Zolarg scholars earned a bunch of precious knowledge which could help the technological development of the Zolarg Empire, the trip had also fostered the understanding between the United Earth and the Zolarg Empire, easing the tension since the Human Civil War a bit. - Insectoid Mind Network Technology (2116)
A breakthrough in neuroscience research in the Zolarg Empire had led to an innovation - the Insectoid Mind Network, designed to foster understanding of consciousness and thinking, and enhancing advanced, direct communication and coordination of Insectoid society. - Cyberonic Transcendence (2119)
A private United Earth research institute Transcendent Technology successfully prototyped Neuro-microchips (NMC), which were compatible with human neuro systems, small in size, but ten times more efficient than average human brains.
The technology contributed to turning the futuristic cyberonic transcendence reality among humans.
Who knows what the future holds?
Hopefully the timeline looked decent and reasonable for My Colony Universe!

How about support to backup and restore game data on Xbox?
(through the files app)
(through the files app)
Have had another regional city corruption. But, this time it wasn't corrupted after a hanging save (although hanging saves are still happening).
Steps:
In one regional city.
Choose to move to the regional map.
See the game save the current city.
Successfully arrive at the regional map.
Tried to go back into the same regional city.
City is corrupted and won't allow me in.
As a side note, when starting this new region, whenever I could successfully get in and out of the three regional cities I would go back to the main screen and then do an export save into the folder of my iPhone. I had hoped that if I did this that I could then reload a saved export file and recover all the cities of the region, losing only the very latest upgrades of the last session played.
But, that did not happen. After the regional city corruption I went to "Game Data" and then "Restore a Game File". Choose the regional colony and loaded it into the game.
However, the same regional city was still corrupted. Even though I had tested it before doing the "Backup Game File".
Question is, when I came out of the regional city to find it corrupted, did that automatic save somehow to the same place on my iphone, thereby replacing the good file with the file with a corrupted city?
I tried using "Restore a Recovery File" but apparently the "Backup Game File" option does not create a .mcb file. At least, I could not find a .mcb file anywhere on my iPhone.
This is so frustrating. Basically two days of regional city building down the tubes.

Log out of Facebook and see if your game goes back to where it should be. If not, check your device for .mcz or .mcb files and try and load one of those if found via "More Options" -> "Game Data". If you don't find any of these then you may have lost your saves. Always, always make a manual backup of your colony. You can also try logging out of Facebook and logging in again to see if it will restore your progress, but do not depend on Facebook to keep a backup of your game. Make a backup yourself.
I had created an offline reptilian colony with my custom map “volcano beach” (which you can see and download in the custom maps section of the my colony forum) a few months ago. I hadn’t checked on it for 3 or 4 updates and when I tried to access it in the 0.71 version of the game it told me that the file had been corrupted and didn’t let me enter. I then tried to restore the backup file but I found out that there was no backup file for this colony (and I never deleted it or any other file from this colony).
Android, Samsung galaxy a5 phone
Update: after managing to enter it on the windows 0.70 version of the game (which I have now updated to the 0.71 version) I was able to access the colony on the phone, because I have cloud sync on on all of my colonies, both offline and online except for my red planet regions colony which has now been corrupted on my phone (I only have it on the phone) and since, for some reason, there are no backup files for any of the colonies in the my colony file, I will now have to delete this colony.
I hope this only happens to offline colonies and only on the phone, because I don’t want any of my big online colonies to get corrupted on both devices and not be able to get them back.

uhm, i see. My main region have the compression disabled (is a old map, in those days compression seemed to have problems).
In beta , i have just make a new region map with compression turn off, 10 empty medium city, backup few times and restore, seems work.
of course is a very little region map.. not sure how the backup system will handle 200-300 full city.

The Windows Store edition of EZ Register is being migrated to a new code base to provide for faster processing, better printing and cleaner font/toolbar rendering. Because of this migration though, I can not do a typical automatic update of the application. The new version is making a fundamental change to the way application data is saved, and doing a straight upgrade would cause data loss for users, which is unacceptable.
To get around the issue, I am renaming the currently available version of EZ Register to EZ Register Old and removing it from sale, so that no new users can download it. The new package will be uploaded using the name EZ Register.
Users are encouraged to migrate over to the new edition of the app, which you can download and install using the following link:
https://www.microsoft.com/store/apps/9PKN4CCN7PH3
Then all you need to do is sign in to the new app using your account, and your Ledger should be there. If you have multiple ledgers, you will need to enable cloud-sync for each one individually.
Then to import your data, on the new app open the File menu and select Restore Backup. Find the *.ezr file you exported in the last step and import it. Do this for each ledger you want to migrate over to the new app.
If you have an Ape Apps Account, signing in to the old app should have automatically saved your purchase history to your account, and so there is nothing you need to do. Your premium will be available in the new app. If you have already purchased Premium but do not have an Ape Apps Account, you can simply create one, sign in to the old app, and it should sync your purchase to your account. You may have to close/open the app a couple of times if it does not sync properly.
If you do not have/want an account or if the premium is not syncing, you can e-mail me. Just let me know that you are trying to migrate your EZ Register Premium key and tell me the Microsoft Account you used to purchase the app on the Windows Store and I will get everything taken care of for you. You can also send me a message here on the forums with the same information.

What do you need to do?
The old version of EZ Register will no longer be maintained and will receive no more updates. If you are fine with this, then you don't really have to do anything at all. Migrating your data to the new app
If you are moving from the old to the new version of EZ Register, you will want to migrate your data over to the new app, and there are a couple of different ways to do this. Remember not to uninstall the old edition of EZ Register until you have moved your data into the new!Cloud-Sync Migration
If you have an Ape Apps Account, then probably the easiest migration path is to use the cloud-sync feature. When signed into the old version of the app, click on the File menu, open Ledger Settings and make sure that Cloud Sync is enabled:Then all you need to do is sign in to the new app using your account, and your Ledger should be there. If you have multiple ledgers, you will need to enable cloud-sync for each one individually.
Backup File Migration
If you do not have an Ape Apps Account or if you are having troubles with the cloud-sync feature, then you can export and import your ledgers manually. From the File menu on the old app, select Backup Ledger and save your *.ezr file somewhere on your system where you can access it.Then to import your data, on the new app open the File menu and select Restore Backup. Find the *.ezr file you exported in the last step and import it. Do this for each ledger you want to migrate over to the new app.
Premium Upgrade
Because the new app and the old app are separate packages, users who purchased the Premium upgrade will find that it does not automatically transfer from the old app to the new. Don't worry though, I will not make you repurchase the app a second time.If you have an Ape Apps Account, signing in to the old app should have automatically saved your purchase history to your account, and so there is nothing you need to do. Your premium will be available in the new app. If you have already purchased Premium but do not have an Ape Apps Account, you can simply create one, sign in to the old app, and it should sync your purchase to your account. Hello everyone, I've tryed to renamy my colonists into Cyrillic names on Russian Language, and the "game" "show" this names (like Привет), but after, I cant save the game, and cant load this game, because "the save file is corrupted".
I've make another colony, and make backup, after that I rename my colonists, make a new save and off cause "save is corrupted".
I've tryed back it up from backup, but "clean backup, without cyrillic" still dont work, and I think, If I rename my colonists to "other lang", this info writing to .mcb file, and making errors besides have I this backup or not :)
PS I've tryed to make Capital, and rename one of the person to "Vladimir Putin" for "kill" him after )) this is funny, because Volodya is my "girl" ;)

So I followed the faq and made a backup file on my pc and transferred it to my iPhone. I use windows store, I don't think that should make a difference in making a backup and transferring it to a different device, but I can select the backup.mcz and load into the game on my iPhone, but it's saving the game that's the problem. Idk if it saves or what but I'll exit back out into the main menu and then try and load the save and it's stuck on syncing data. I've tried game save compression on and off and that doesn't help. Is it because I'm using Windows store? I don't think so, can someone please tell me what to do?
My Colony v0.97.0
Premium purchased.
Platform: iPhone 7 Plus - OS 12.4.1
Because of the issue of super-slow colony loading that I described in another thread, I thought I better back up all my colonies. I was then going to bring the slow-loading region colony onto the desktop and see if it loaded slow there as well.
Only, the save and backup feature isn't working. I've tried every single one of my colonies, large and small, one-city and regions, and the app freezes when trying to save. I closed and restarted My Colony. Restarted the iPhone. Tried it while connected to the internet and when now. No matter what I did the app would freeze and when I went to the files area of my iPhone the backup file was not there.
In previous versions I've had no issues with saving colonies. I think the last one I saved a backup was about 3 months ago. Sorry that I can't narrow down the versions further than that.
Is anyone else having a saving problem on mobile?
