buildings not working properly
so recently ive unlocked quantum buildings and alien tech, so ive built a few aluminum generators and quantum distillery buildings but they arent producing. Ive tried deactivating and reactivating but nothing has worked.
I'm on windows 10 V0.43.0
I'd love to know how to fix this.
It seems to be a bug. If you open the workers list (click on 8/8 workers) it will start producing again for a while.
Though sometimes the workers won't actually be there. Sometimes you have to select them a few times after they've filled up. Check you food production too. The problem has a tendency of hitting the food bad enough you get a lot of deaths. Water too. Food processing plants are good but have a tendency of not working and when you click on them they often have no one working there. Then they fill up again but have no one working there. This seems to be exacerbated by .43 update.
and now im starting to get a problem where none of my buildings are producing anything but they all have workers and energy to support them.
My buildings are in nearly all cases "loosing" workers when I open the employees list. For example have 50/50 workers in a building, after I opened the employees list some will "disappear", production rate is updates (and therefore goes down), after closing the employees list the building only has 24/50 workers.
Nearly all of my buildings are affected. Also I have also nearly always a couple of "unemployed" employees in this list in nearly every building. It seems, that the colonist are changing there jobs very rapidly.
edit: My colony has around 6.000 colonists, so it's not that big.
"It seems to be a bug. If you open the workers list (click on 8/8 workers) it will start producing again for a while."
I can confirm this! But clicking hundreds of buildings is not a real option. Please fix this
I also have a problem that buildings produce properly for a while and then they stop producing without any reason while all the workers are green
I got the glitch today too... Now many buildings won't bring new workers in, and it seems as though all the colonists that are no longer employed but trapped in their former workplace are unemployable... A fix on this would be great, otherwise I probably write off the $3 investment in an otherwise fantastic game
The problem with the disappearing workers is the game engine fixing a previous bug where the game would put a single colonist in like 30 jobs.
I asked @bastecklein about it on the old forum (with a different username) and he said that when you open the colonist menu of a building the game fixes the bug immediately and brings the number down to the actual number of colonists that are working in the building. That's why you notice the sudden decrease in production .
If you don't check the working colonists in a building, the engine will slowly get rid of the problem without decreasing the production rate.
I hope this helped :)
The problem I'm having with that method is that all of a sudden ALL of my buildings stop producing, seemingly randomly. All of a sudden water and food inventories plummet. I can import those items to give the game time, but it seems that the game engine has stopped making the fix altogether. It's seriously taking the fun out of the game. I wind up with a ton of seemingly unemployable colonists, buildings that won't work no matter what I do, colonists stuck in buildings etc. I can't seem to manually hire colonists to anything anymore either.
This wasn't happening a few days ago.
