Colonies using the cloud sync feature will now be deleted from the cloud server if not accessed for over 6 months. Keep in mind that this does not impact your save from your local device.
The reason for the change is that there are literally hundreds of thousands of colonies saved to the cloud server from people who are probably not even playing the game anymore. Since the purpose of the server is to sync game saves between devices, not as a cloud storage service, there is really no point in housing a bunch of saves that aren't being used. I think 6 months is plenty of time.

As a silly question possibly, how do you set up cloud syncing? I haven't seen that option unless I'm already doing it and don't know how to access it on other devices.
Its under colony statistics on the main page, but it only shows up if you are signed in to Facebook. Once the Ape Apps accounts are integrated into the game though, it will no longer require Facebook.

Hm... I've signed into Facebook and never had the ability to find a colony I already have to play on another device. I guess that's why I'm confused.

OH! So that's why I haven't gotten that option. I eagerly await the integration.
