Hm, a neat trick indeed, and it wouldn't be any risk because no one will want to buy 100 ore for trillions of coins. Even if they do accidentally buy the deal, your sub-colony gets the amount anyway and your mother colony doesn't have to spend a dime.
It's unfortunate that you can't do the inverse to send your sub-colonies massive amounts of ore. I mean, you could, but you would risk getting those resources bought right out from under you in the time it takes to go from the main to the sub and buy the deal.

Only if you can spend the billions of civics those trades cost.
You could send all the money from your prime to the sub colony, really ALL coins, with the trick told above.
Then have a second trade in the prime-colony which sells the 'ore' or whatever for the amount of coins you send before.
But it has to be an amount of coins anyone never would spend...
yes I did sell at first but I lost to much coins so switched to this .
Now if your wanting to send 50 million in resources from the sub to the main but only have say the lv 2 consulate then again trades works but then it will cost lots of civ points .
I quite doing it from subs to mains long agaio as the lv 5 consulate is so limited that farming any low lv stuff is not worth it .

ps if some one buys the ore for a trillion coins your still go as now you have the coins on both colonys lol
