I'm constantly needing more wood I have like 10 tree farms but I'm still running out what is the best way to farm wood in the game I got a few lumber mills and the other wood building I can't remember what the name is at the moment..anyways any help will be appreciated thanks in advance

Check what it is using the wood and maybe you need to build more tree farms. Also, the trees do reproduce so you can plant more all over the place and have your lumber bots farm them when you really need more.

I have 12 tree farms and it's more than enough for my colony. The only wood consumers I have are 4 charcoal factories and 6 lumberyards.
