Windows Edge game save location
I have been playing a colony on Windows Edge and would like to move it to a Chromebook. I am unable to location the *.mcz file after an export, nor can I find an indication it was downloaded. When I use Chrome or the desktop client, the export option open a standard Windows Explorer window to choose a save location. I do not get this on Windows Edge.

I believe MS Edge blocks the export due to security reasons for some reason. What you have to do is go to Game Data -> Text Backup then pick your game file. Right click on the game data, go to 'Select All' copy/paste it into a text editor like notepad or notepad++, and save it as an *.mcz file. Then you should be able to import.
