Why would a game designer nerf a game so badly in one update and take away resources?
This is not well received and unfair.
Your customers addapt there playing style to what the game allowes, and because of this made certain choices as to what to build and what not to build.
Now with this update we need massive storage upgrades while all our resources are decaying, nice concept, but something you push onto people that has been stock pilling resources for so long.
This update will cost you many players, stop playing your game

Also this game is still in development with the final version of the game could very well be drastically different than what we are used to. It is part of playing a game that is still in BETA. You just have to come to terms with that.
