Before the release of 0.46 I finally thought up of a settlement pattern that fits my gaming style and future plans. With the release of the day-night cycle and the "need" for lighting I am now contemplating how to change my settlement pattern.



I am wondering what other players have done to accommodate the new lighting features or have you just placed your colonies on "always day" mode like I have done for the moment.

just keep it on always day

Keep playing and you will begin to recapitalize large parts of your colony. For instance, now that you have medical research buildings you can stand to demo a bunch of the little research labs. Similarly, civic centers are off little use with banks. There will be lots of room.

I also stick them in at one end of alleys, leaving the other end open for access. If I have roads on 4 sides of a large building I will demo one of the four sides and fill it with lighting.

Yeah, I am still storing up resources to be able to tear down the obsolete buildings and replace them. I am also considering not revising my base layout until the building lighting is implemented so I know where there needs to be lighting features.

I've figured out how I'll re-model! ^_^

The bad part is it will cost me around 2 billion... or more. T_T

Whoo! Another 600,000 microchips and my re-modeling will be complete with a lot of upgrades thrown in. Total cost is in the area of 5+ billion.

I am finally done with the re-model. Now it's time to move my colony ever forward.

I am confident it will be fixed and when it is I'm already ready. 😁
